Philip Knight and Bill Bowerman created Nike in 1971. This brand uses an upside-down comma as its logo proposed by Carolyn Davidson. At a time when Adidas and Puma dominated the sports shoe market, the two partners imported athletic shoes from Japan. Phil will then create the company Blue Ribbon Sports and Bowerman, his partner, will contribute to improving the design of the shoes.
