The return of Adidas Forum Low sneakers
The Adidas brand, known the world over for its sports and fashion products, needs no introduction. Over the years, the German company has established itself as one of the giants of streetwear. Sneaker design Adidas Forum Low
The brand with the three stripes was quick to expand its product range with new sneaker models and clothing collections. In the 60s, for example, the brand developed a range of sneakers designed for basketball: a strategic choice, given the general craze for the sport. Adidas seized the opportunity and surfed the wave, marketing specialized shoes for the floor: the famous Stan Smith was born. Shortly afterwards, a new Adidas model appeared: the Adidas Forum Low.
To design this silhouette, the German firm called on French designer Jacques Chassaing, with the aim of creating ever more high-performance basketball shoes. To achieve this, the designer went directly to the athletes to determine the weak point of their shoes at the time: the ankle. Chassaing created the "criss-cross ankle system", a Velcro fastening around the fragile bone to protect it from injury. This technology enabled the athlete to benefit from better support and thus perform better.
But it was the famous Michael Jordan who launched the hype around the Forum Low Adidas. Thanks to the basketball player's influence and notoriety, these sneakers made their way from the court to the street. The model is available in a wide range of colors, including Adidas Forum 84 Low Off White Vivid Red Footwear White and Adidas Forum 84 Low BSTN Panathinaikos, which have been widely adopted by the sneaker community.
