Air Force 1 Mid

The Air Force 1 Mid: A hybrid sneaker

The Air Force 1 Mid is a pair of sneakers you could call... hybrid! It combines the Low and High models. The result? A unique sneaker that bears little resemblance to the classic AF1 model we've come to know and love so much in the sneaker community.

The Air Force 1 was originally a High model, designed in 1982 by Bruce Kilgore. Soon after, Mid and Low versions were released to complete the collection. Today, this sneaker has become legendary for its perforations on the forefoot, its elevated look and its Nike swoosh all around the heel. Over time, it has also earned a reputation as one of the most comfortable pairs of sneakers ever created.

The high upper and the strap above the tongue both provide solid support and enhanced foot stability. A sneaker for sports, its perforations on the upper enhance breathability, while its thick sole adds to the pair's comfort.

As you can see, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid is still the perfect combination of comfort, practicality and retro aesthetics. One of the most telling versions of this sneaker remains, 26 years after its first edition, the Air Force 1 Mid QS Independence Day. With its originality and American flag colors, the Air Force 1 Mid QS, reissued in 2022, deserves its place on the list of Air Force 1 classics from the American manufacturer.

The origins of a historic triple collaboration: Supreme x Nike x NBA

If there's one collaboration that was a resounding success in 2018, when it was released, it's the one between Supreme, Nike and the American NBA basketball league. This collection of two sneakers, an Air Force 1 NBA Supreme declined in its white and black Nike Mid version, can legitimately be described as unique. It also includes jerseys, shorts and warm-up jackets with the same theme and design.

The AF1 Mid features several NBA team logos, including those of the Lakers, Spurs and New York Knicks. It's all about the details on this sneaker! The Eastern Conference logos are on the right-hand side of the shoe, while the Western Conference logos are on the left.

Of course, the classic Swoosh is present in its usual place on the shoe, and several Supreme brandings are featured on the strap, toebox and insoles.

When Off-White revisits the collection..

In addition to the already rich Nike Off-White collection, the brand founded by the late artistic director Virgil Abloh doesn't hesitate to rethink numerous pairs of sneakers Nike or Air Jordan, for example. The Air Force Mid 1 is no exception..

Two Air Force 1 Mid Off White, in Clear White and Clear Black, were released in June 2022. You'd be forgiven for thinking that you'd hardly recognize the model underneath, given Off-White's reputation for distorting and rethinking every pair of Nike shoes, adding its own distinctive stamp. With rubber dots under the outsole, zip ties on the laces and Off-White brandings on the swoosh, these two Nike Air Force 1 Mid sneakers are unique in their own way.

How does the Air Force 1 Mid fit?

As we all know, the Nike AF1 Mid seems more suited to men than women, since it's designed for basketball, a predominantly male sport. What's more, it's a shoe that's also known for its large size. We therefore advise you to choose a half-size smaller than your usual shoe size.
